Trapped in a Chair

I climb up the hill
Go into the building
Walk down the hallway
Stroll into the classroom
Sit in my chair
Help!

I'm trapped.

For fifty minutes
Sometimes sixty-five
Why is learning painfully boring?
Why can't I learn outside?
Why can't I learn while riding a bike?
Why can't I learn while jumping up and down?

I'm not good at following conventions
I'm not good at sitting still
I'm a full supporter of education
But now I'm trapped against my will!

Education and innovation
They're supposed to go hand in hand
I need to come up with a solution
As fast as I very well can

Oh the places you'll go!
You'll sit in a chair
for four years
and sometimes more
Once I get that paper though
I am flying out that building door

To bigger and greater successes
To new people and adventures
My future will take me wherever I please
There are many of plenty of places to see

But if there is just one thing I can guarantee
You will never ever see me trapped in a chair.
Because I am meant to be
Free.
