If I Owned a Sailboat

If I owned a sailboat
I would sail out to sea
Travel across the waves
With just my boat and me
I would wear striped pants
And put a bandana upon my head
The color of my bandana?
Of course it would be red
I would search for sunken treasure
Aboard my little yacht
I would dive deep into the water
Especially if it was hot
Wherever the wind may take me
I don’t really care
I’ll let the sail billow
When in contact with the air
We may make it to Puerto Rico
Chile and China too
It’ll be a great adventure!
Who know what I’ll do
When I make it to land
I’ll tell my boat, “I’ll be back”
Boats may have anchors
But legs they do lack
As I sift through foreign markets
I find a perfect gift
A new colorful sail
Will give my boat a nice lift
When I step on board
And I look around
My crew is tied in knots
And lying upon the ground
I take out my pocket knife
And cut open the twines
In my gut something is coming
I’m running out of time
I put on the new sail
To show my enemies I am strong
They may not understand
But this is where I belong
As they begin to attack
I furrow my brow
I really can’t believe
This is happening to me now
I tell them to please leave
I tell them to obey
If they really want to attack
They can do it another day
But today I am sailing
With no worries on my mind
My enemies leave in peace
And then I feel just fine
I slowly drift off
And then the sunshine gleams
I open up my eyes
It was all just a dream
